Half Marathon Course Information

The race will start on Jamestown Road in front of William & Mary’s Phi Beta Kappa Hall, wind through the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg and take runners down the picturesque Colonial Parkway and along the James River before returning to the City of Williamsburg and the Historic Area, with a photo finish in William and Mary’s Zable Stadium!

The Run for the Dream Half Marathon has a four-hour time limit. This is an 18-minute mile pace.All half marathon registrants will receive a Run for the Dream technical shirt as well as other goodies at the Race Expo. Finishers will also receive the special inaugural half marathon medal! Awards will be presented to overall winners in the men's and women's divisions as well as age group winners
FREE BUSCH GARDENS TICKETS!
Half marathon registrants who reserved a free Busch Gardens pass will pick them up along with their runner bib. The pass is good for Friday May 18, Saturday May 19 or Sunday May 20 and includes a $15 meal voucher. These passes will not be issued to a specific name, so they may be transferred to another person if you are a season pass holder. You will receive your free pass when you pick up your bib number at the Expo. Busch Gardens is also offering a 15% online-only discount on park passes for runners and their friends and family on race weekend (Friday–Sunday). We will share this discount code with registered runners closer to the race.
FREE TICKETS TO COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG'S HISTORIC AREA!
The first 6,000 registrants for any Run for the Dream race, and all Wounded Warriors, will receive free passes to Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area when they pick up their bib at the Expo. All runners will receive a voucher in their swag bags for 20% off discounts for friends and family to be used race weekend.
RACE MANAGEMENT
Dave McGillivray, race director of the Boston Marathon for the past 22 years, will serve as Race Director and his company, DMSE SPORTS, will manage operations.
Proceeds from the Run for the Dream will benefit An Achievable Dream, a nationally recognized K-12 school dedicated to the belief that all children can learn and succeed regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds, and that education can break the cycle of poverty. The race will also benefit the Wounded Warriors Programs, dedicated to assisting and advocating for the severely wounded, ill and injured members of the armed forces and for their families.
