185 for Heroes Fundraising Page!

Thank you for visiting the 185 for Heroes fundraising page.

185 for Heroes is an organization located in the Baltimore, Maryland/D.C. area that raises funds and awareness for wounded veterans. We began our event in 2010. Clay Anderson and Ashley Ackenhausen, brother/sister team, ran 185 miles over 7 days along the C&O Canal Trail to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. in 2010 we raised about $7,000! We continued our program in 2011, raising a total of $22,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project over the course of the two years. In 2012 we plan to raise funds for a local Maryland non-profit, Operation Second Chance, who also supports and raises awareness for wounded veterans. After the running event, we host a Finish Line Ceremony at Georgetown University which is sponsored by the Georgetown University Running Club on campus.

185 for Heroes is proud and excited to join Run for a Dream 2012 in their efforts to support and raise awareness for wounded veterans, their families and our nation's military. We plan to form a 185 for Heroes running team for the events over the weekend and raise awareness about our event in September 2012, but also to support our wounded veterans. Please considering joining our team and purchasing a 185 for Heroes t-shirt to wear during the running events (stay tuned for details).

If you have any questions about 185 for Heroes, please contact our founder Clay Anderson for details, at clayton@185forheroes.org.

We look forward to seeing you in May, 2012 in Williamsburg, Virginia!
